Senior Scientist I, Biologics Discovery
We are seeking an energetic, self-motivated, collaborative Scientist I/Scientist II to join our Biologics research group of the Molecule Design & Development department dedicated to the discovery and development of novel oncology therapeutics. The position initially will primarily support protein engineering, production, and analytic functions with occasional support of cell biology as needed. A major component of the role involves understanding the protein needs of early-stage projects and therapeutic areas along with coordination of delivery with project teams. Title, compensation and scope of duties will be tailored to the successful candidate's experience.
Protein production of antibodies and bispecifics using transiently expressing cell lines (experience with Expi293, ExpiCho and AKTA machines is appreciated).
Develop technical solutions to problems, keep abreast of industry best practices and technological advancements in biologics manufacturing.
Design, execute, and oversee protein binding assays, kinetic assays, and biophysical analyses to support characterization and discovery workflows (SEC, CE-SDS, BLI, SPR, ELISA skillsets appreciated).
Work independently and collaboratively in a small team environment
Manage and mentor Research Associates and junior laboratory personnel
Maintenance of HEK and CHO cell lines (both stable and transient)
Protein characterization (affinity determination, competitive binding assays, epitope determination) by plate-based methods (ELISA)
Ph.D. in cell biology, Immunology, molecular biology, or a related field with minimum of 2 years relevant industry experience; or M.S. with 6+ years; or B.S. with 8+ years
Fundamental knowledge of proteins and antibodies
Transfection of transient mammalian cell linles (HEK & CHO).
Experience with protein purification and QC (Gravity column purification and AKTA)
Experience with protein analysis (HPLC, BLI, Endotox, ect).
Experience with reagent documentation. Organizational skills, and teamwork/communication skills are required.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $120,000 and $140,000 per year. At Dren Bio, pay ranges are determined by role, level(s), and location. The range displayed in this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum new hire pay for candidates located across all United States job markets. Within the range, individual pay will be determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
